I have a number of instrumentals in the waltz (3/4) time signature that I'd like to do something with for a project I'm working on but I'm struggling to come up with many suitable acapellas to accompany them. Does anyone know of any good waltz-time acapellas in the archive?
Many thanks

| 3/4? Wow, the only one that springs to my mind is Golden Brown by the Stranglers and even that has a 4/4 bar every 4th bar but unfortunately its not in the archive. I'm now intrigued to see of there are any 3/4 songs in the archive too. |

| Well, I know that the Pet Shop Boys' "Numb" is in the archive, and that's a waltz, so hopefully there are more. |

Thanks, Oscar. That would be perfect but it's not in the archive I may have a tinker and see if I can make a passable acapella for it though. |

As an update, I have found a few good waltz acapellas around. Imogen Heap's version of "Halleljuah" was a strong contender but I've ended up using The Rainbow Connection instead, as it fits with my instrumental and theme very well.
There is a Kermit-style version of this track in the archive but doesn't suit the ambience I'm aiming for. Instead I've used Sarah McLachlan's version, which required some creative filtering to achieve a decent vocal. |

RI. Is in that in the true style of Kenny everett as 'in the best passable taste' I'm sure. Sounds like you've got a pella dialed so we all look forward to your creation.
Given me an idea that this is possible something extra we should add in to the collection as far as timing sigs go. Then again, te majority will all be 4/4 so it's prob NOT worth the effort.

acapella. |

Info on time signatures would be really helpful for oddly specific projects like this one but as you say, 99.99% of the tracks are 4/4 anyway, so it would be a huge amount of trouble for a tiny minority. It would probably be quite tricky to pick out the time signature on some tracks too, especially with good clean acapellas.
I will have a DIY upload for the archive in due course - possibly not the one most people would like though. |

Awesome as well, but I was meaning the end result of the produced mashup/remix/or whatever it was you were planning to do with the pella.

| Oh yes, there's a haunting waltz mashup on the way - all part of a very special David Lynch-themed mashup compilation album that will be out in the next couple of months. I'll have plenty more info on this in time, but I can say that it features some excellent mashup talent, some of the best mashups I've heard this year (and I don't mean my contributions), and there will be loads of special artwork and videos too. |
