Hi all,
Noob here I'm afraid, I was just wondering if Cakewalk is out of favour at the mo, as most posts refer to Albleton, FL studio and Cubase.
I've always been a Cakewalk man, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing out by not using these other apps.
(I don't intend this post to open up the 'what's the best DAW' wound, I'm just curious) |

Considering cakewalk is made by erm, steinberg there's Sonar which is more or less the same but you really should just get on Cubase as it's the high end of what cakewalk used to be.
I remember using cakewalk...at the same time i was using Logic 5. then Cubase came around at my music tech course and i ran to Logic...but that's just coz i'm a bit of a mac junkie
It aint bad at all...the functionality is more then adequate for a lot of jobs. the MIDI is pretty straightforward as is the recording end editing functionality....You won't find many Cakewalk savvy people in here...(although i could be wrong!) |

| Cakewalk, the company, stopped making Cakewalk, the sequencer when they started making Sonar, several years ago. seeing as Sonar is going V8 on Monday, it was probably sometime last century. |
