Just wondering what setup most of the producers on here have??
I have the standard soundblaster soundcard and original drivers but im goin to upgrade to the DX drivers,
All linked up to my hifi but i do most of my producing through headphones,
Mainly use Reason 2.5 Rewired with Acid Pro 4.0 (Very versatile combo!)
Also can any1 recommend a good midi keyboard as im playing all my riffs through note edits with my mouse (very time consuming!) |

Hi man.
Weird, but I;ve just finished replying to a thred about SB Live's and KX (not DX  ) drivers.. maybe take a look.
I use headphones for ALL pc audio work - just have to - I live in purpose built flats.. and I'm happy with it - all beit my ears do get real tired quick..
Keyboards wise, perhaps try the Novation Remote 25 thing or one of the Evolution MK series controllers. I have the MK-149 and apart from one real dodgy f#2 key - I really can't complain - although I think the midi gameport lead has really seen better days.. and it;s jsut a matter of time now..
Best two improvements you could do though asap:
a) get a midi controller (even if it's 2 octave)
b) KX drivers... to give you ASIO performance = Low latency all round
