A few have commented on some performance drops since the new site launch, we're working on improving the code in the background to keep things nice and speedy for everyone, but in the mean time, we've just upgraded to a newer, bigger, better and much faster server. For those with a technical interest, the new server is a quad core intel xeon 2.8ghz with 12mb of cache, 8gb of ram and we've upgraded to a 1 gigabit connection to help you get those acapellas even faster than before.

I've given the site a good test overnight (it's 8am here now, not been to bed yet) and everything I've tested looks good, but naturally with upgrades there are often a few niggles, if you find any, please don't hesitate to give me a shout

So I spent some time this morning finding a half-decent screen recording tool (free of course) which I could use to show the world some of the new features of the new acapellas4u website we've got up our sleeves.

The first video shows the 'Browse Artists' section of the new website which I hope you'll agree is pretty bloody snazzy!.

Whilst watching the video, remember to click the FULL-SCREEN icon in the bottom right and to also be wary that I've added sub-titles too. Quite a bit of additional information in there.

Now this is something that was worth mentioning as I'd literally just noticed it myself. We have just tipped over 200,000 members and that is quite astonishing. No doubt there's a few dupes and gone-aways in there but the database is regularly purged as we like house-keeping.

If you want to check this statistic out for yourself, just goto the home page and check the right hand column within the .: Statistics :. block.
